Sojourners Land

samanthacavet

I wandered once again through the high mountains of the Cantabrian region, looking for those small, picturesque villages that feel untouched by time. I followed winding roads, traced the ridges, and let the landscape pull me in, not really knowing where I’d end up. But nothing ever truly prepares me for what this land has to offer.

As the world stretched out in front of me, I felt something shift. The vastness of it all the rolling hills, the endless sky felt monumental, like witnessing something too big to fully grasp. Before even reaching for my camera, I felt an intense pull to just be there, to absorb it before trying to capture it.

I sat down and watched as the sky changed by the second, painting shadows and light across the mountains in an unstoppable rhythm. I felt as if I were watching time pass before me, with a relentless speed and intensity. And as I surrendered to these changes, every emotion washed over me at once: happiness, sadness, awe, loss, a delirium of beauty that left me suspended in the moment.

I was being reminded of the raw and aching beauty of impermanence, where we are merely passers-by.
