October

I had just arrived in a new place, still carrying the weight of what I had left behind, unsure of what awaited me. Balancing between the excitement of everything new and the mourning of my past life. This photo became the first one of this series and it was also one of the first I shot since I moved and so it represents everything I felt during the month of October of 2024. As I wandered through the outskirts of a beautiful village called Lierganes, I saw this house in the distance. Solitary, silent, yet commanding all my attention, it felt like it had been waiting there, just for me to find it.

Everything about the scene looked like a masterpiece on its own. Surreal, magnetic, something out of a dream. Yet, beneath that dreamlike beauty, I was still caught in the storm of my emotions, processing the transition, the longing, and the quiet ache of change.

While I tried to alchemize all of this process into the piece, the warmth of it became visible on its own. Golden and orange hues, deep textures, and a softness that embraced the loneliness of the house. The photograph became more than just an image; it became a place to retreat, a space where I could momentarily rest from the weight of my own emotions.
